Susan Mace Weeks, Ph.D.

Dr. Susan Weeks

As Vice Provost, Dr. Weeks provides advocacy and leadership in the planning and coordination of academic programs; development and review of academic policies; and assessment of program outcomes.

Dr. Weeks also serves as the Provost’s Advisor to the Burnett School of Medicine. In this role, she serves as a resource to the leadership team, working alongside Dean Stuart Flynn to lead the strategic priorities for Burnett School. Her depth of knowledge and experience in health care and education, as well as extensive ties to health care organizations, make her a valuable asset to the school’s success. At the core of this assignment is a commitment to ensure our students receive a world-class medical education and that our community benefits from a stellar medical school.

Dr. Weeks is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and a Distinguished Fellow and Practitioner in the National Academies of Practice. She is a member of the Board of Trustees for a large regional healthcare system and serves on the Board of Directors for the Regional Chapter of the American Red Cross. Her work focuses on forging collaboration among academic colleagues, as well as collaboration between community organizations and academic partners. She is an active member of numerous professional organizations and has been recognized with awards honoring her professional and community service.

Dr. Weeks holds multiple professional licensures and has disseminated her scholarly work in peer-reviewed publications as well as national and international presentations. She completed Honors Study at Harlaxton College in England, a bachelor’s degree from William Jewell College, a master’s degree from Texas Woman’s University, a doctoral degree from Texas Christian University, and an Executive Education program in The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

In addition to her primary roles at TCU, she holds faculty appointments at the University of Adelaide in South Australia and the Burnett School of Medicine. Dr. Weeks serves on national health care leadership committees including the Healthcare System Excellence Expert Panel and the Quality Health Care Expert Panel.
