SPOT – Student Perception of Teaching
Course Evaluations & Surveys – Student Perception of Teaching (SPOT)
TCU Institutional Research manages the SPOT survey through the Watermark platform. The centralized platform collects, manages, and analyzes feedback from students and stakeholders about courses, instructors, and academic programs to improve teaching and learning. Institutional Research provides reports, policies and guidelines for the SPOT surveys.
SPOT Revision Committee
A committee is developing a revised student course evaluation instrument and process that better reflects effective, inclusive, and reflective teaching practices; aligns with TCU’s teacher-scholar model; and addresses bias, validity, and the limited utility of current student evaluation systems. The goal is to implement updates to SPOT questions for a Fall 2026 pilot. Click here for committee members.
