Welcome Back 2025

Dear Faculty and Staff,

As your new Provost and Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs, it is my pleasure to welcome you back to a new semester. I hope you had a healthy and happy winter break.

This semester starts with thanksgiving (just no turkey), hope and prayers:

I wish to express my gratitude to our faculty and staff advisors and the staff of the Registrar’s Office and the Office of Scholarships and Student Financial Aid for ensuring that our incoming students were able to begin classes today. You made them feel welcome and ready, even when the weather forced us to close campus just as they were arriving.

Thank you to all of our faculty for revising your spring course syllabi to comply with the TCU Syllabus Template, and accolades to all who reviewed those syllabi. I know this was an exceptional effort. I am confident that your remarkable work helps us ensure consistency in compliance with TCU policies and procedures, which is vital to meeting TCU’s accreditation obligations. This also helps facilitate clear course expectations and mitigate student accessibility concerns. Your commitment to academic excellence and the student experience is commendable. We truly have the best faculty in the world.

Importantly, I ask that you join me in prayer and support for the people impacted by the horrific fires around Los Angeles, including many TCU students and alumni. Let us join together as Horned Frogs to support them in any way we can.

I offer you my best wishes for a first-rate semester at TCU,
Floyd
