Stacy Mason Named Inaugural Director of Student Access and Accommodation

Stacy Mason will lead TCU’s Student Access and Accommodation office to develop and provide innovative campus-wide strategic leadership, vision and direction, as well as administrative and fiscal oversight. As director of Student Access and Accommodation, Mason will work collaboratively with Academic Affairs and Student Affairs to ensure the highest quality of holistic services and support for TCU students with disabilities. In addition, she will lead the charge to increase visibility and inclusivity of students with disabilities in the TCU community. She will report to Annorah Moorman, associate vice provost for Student Success.

Mason joined TCU in 2018 as associate director of Student Disability Services, now Student Access and Accommodation, to help further the university’s commitment to equity and social justice for individuals with disabilities. She has more than 25 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities. Since earning her MA in rehabilitation counseling in 2005, she has worked in education, recreation and rehabilitation with increasing administrative responsibilities. Her experience includes program assessment, project management, external audit reviews, supervision of professional staff, case management, budget monitoring, strategic planning and policy development.

Mason previously was associate director for Disability Services at the University of Texas at San Antonio and program director at Special Olympics of Texas, where she managed and coordinated programs for 13 counties in East Texas. At Camp Summit, she created and coordinated United Way evaluation tools to maintain funding. She also served as a vocational rehabilitation counselor and program specialist at the Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services.

She holds both an MA and BS in rehabilitation counseling from Stephen F. Austin State University and is certified as a Rehabilitation Counselor and licensed as a Substance Use Disorder Counselor.
