Dear TCU community,
I am pleased to announce that Ryan Litsey, Ph.D., will join TCU on July 31, 2026, as dean of the Mary Couts Burnett Library.
Dr. Litsey’s experience as a leader, innovator and team
builder in R1 academic libraries made him the optimal choice among a notable pool of national candidates. He comes to TCU from Texas Tech University, where he served as associate dean of libraries overseeing multi-library operations and strategic initiatives.
I’m confident that Dr. Litsey’s experience as a library administrator and his understanding of the library’s role as we aim for Carnegie R1 status will strengthen TCU’s LEAD ON: Values in Action™ strategic plan by fostering new knowledge and interdisciplinary connections.
I thank the search committee for their commitment to filling this important role, and co-chairs Associate Dean of the Library Kristen Barnes and Amy Hardison Tully, Teresa Ann Carter King Dean of the College of Fine Arts.
