Dear Academic Affairs colleagues,
Study Days are here again! Here are a few reminders as we wrap up the semester:
No Assignments Over University Breaks (including Study Days)
Faculty Senate supported an SGA resolution that no coursework shall be due during University breaks. This includes Study Days.
EXCEPTIONS: Rescheduled finals for graduating students; Existing long-term projects; Make-up work; Work related to incomplete grades.
Final Evaluative Exercise Policy
A final evaluative exercise must be administered in all classes during finals week, December 9-13.
EXCEPTIONS: Graduating seniors (see below); Students with more than two finals in 24 hours; Students whose final exam conflicts with a major religious holiday.
Grade Turnaround
Graduating Students: Grades for degree candidates must be recorded by Wednesday by 5 p.m. prior to commencement. Finals for graduating students scheduled for the last two days of finals week may be rescheduled on the corresponding Study Days and Saturday at the same time of day as originally scheduled. Grades for all other students must be submitted within 48 hours of the final.
I look forward to seeing you at the December Commencement to congratulate our students as they go on to do great things in their fields.
Best wishes,
Floyd L. Wormley, Jr., Ph.D.
Interim Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs
