Chairs Academy May 10-11
The Chairs Academy is an excellent opportunity for all department chairs, current and incoming, to hone your skills as campus leaders and to develop your personal peer support network with other chairs. Held at the TCU Hyatt, the two-day event features:
- The Balancing Acts of Academic Leadership for New Chairs
- The Department Chair’s Essential Duties
- Time and Task Management: How to Handle Competing Priorities and Stay Emotionally Healthy
- The Balancing Acts of Academic Leadership
- Leading and Influencing without Authority
- How to Lead a Productive and Efficient Faculty Meeting.

2nd Annual RRI Day April 20
RRI Day is the signature event of the Race & Reconciliation Initiative. I invite you to participate to exemplify that, together, we can honor each other and move forward. The event begins at 11:00 a.m. in the BLUU Auditorium with an update and panel discussion, and recognizing, reckoning and reconciling with living descendants of Charley and Kate Thorp, people of color instrumental to the early growth of TCU. The event continues with food, festivities and fellowship from noon to 1:00 p.m. outside on the Commons.
Spring 2022 Commencement
Spring Commencement is May 7 in the Schollmaier Arena. A reception will be held Friday evening, May 6, beginning at 7:00 p.m., in the Campus Commons, featuring photo opps, refreshments, and TCU’s famous fireworks. I hope you will attend to show your support for our graduating seniors.
