Welcome to the start of a new semester and year at TCU. It is always a pleasure to see our students, faculty and staff on campus, greeting each other, supporting each other, and buoying our Horned Frog community. On the heels of a wonderful commencement ceremony honoring our December graduates and an outstanding win in the Alamo Bowl, I look forward to a promising spring semester.
Harris College Interim Dean
As we enter 2026, I welcome Dr. Robyn Ward as interim dean of the Harris College of Nursing & Health Sciences. Dr. Ward will lead the college until we hire a permanent dean this spring. I respect her expertise and appreciate her commitment to TCU in filling this important role
Inclement Weather
The weather in Texas is subject to change without notice. One of the funniest things I heard over the break was: “Texas weather went from 85 to 35 like it spotted a state trooper.” Even though it is bright and sunny today, sleet, freezing rain and/or snow are always possible. Should the university announce an official closure, all academic instruction and activities, online or in-person, on or off campus, will cease until the university officially reopens. More information is available here: provost.tcu.edu/faq.
Faculty Senate
I work closely with the Faculty Senate, look to them for wise counsel, and appreciate the work they do on behalf of our faculty body, representing their colleagues and supporting TCU. I encourage all faculty to utilize your representative to express your views on academic affairs matters. We are always stronger together.
Best wishes for a happy and healthy 2026,
Floyd L. Wormley Jr.
Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs
