Dear Academic Affairs colleagues,
As we all know, academic operations are not known for being efficient or integrated, which often means additional, convoluted and duplicated work for you. Fortunately, we have a solution.
The Registrar’s Office has upgraded to a software platform called Coursedog, which simplifies processes and technology for curriculum management, catalog information, academic event scheduling, and course demand projections into a single, unified platform.
Curriculum Management is already live. Now, instead of PDFs, curriculum proposals are electronically routed through each level of approval, providing the proposer the ability to see where it is in the approval process. This eliminates the need for PDF forms for proposals and updates to courses and programs. Instead, you will find links to Coursedog on the Undergraduate Council and Graduate Council websites. (Permission to Plan will continue to use PDF/Excel forms until Spring 2026, when it will transition to Coursedog.)
To help you get to know this remarkable unified platform, we encourage you to attend a walk-in Curriculum Management training session. We think you’ll be happy with the improvements to our previous cumbersome process.

As for the rest of Coursedog’s’ improvements, Academic Events Scheduling will be live later this semester, as will Class Scheduling for Summer and Fall 2026. Course Demand Projections will be live in 2026, as will Catalog updates.
This is a much-needed change for the better that will help all of us, including our students, succeed.
