New Policies for Endowed Positions and AI

Here are important updates about a new policy for endowed positions and a new AI policy from TCU Information Technology, plus a reminder about TCU’s Final Evaluative Exercise Policy.

Endowed Faculty/Staff Review Policy

With guidance from the Office of Advancement and in consultation with deans and the Provost Council, this new policy provides guidelines for the appointment, reappointment, length of appointment, and periodic evaluation of endowed positions. This will help us ensure that TCU is a good steward of the funds per the gift criteria. The Office of Advancement and the Office of the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs will share administration of the policy. Click here for the Endowed Faculty/Staff Review Policy.

AI Policy

In answer to questions about the use of AI at TCU, TCU IT has established an Artificial Intelligence Policy for members of the TCU community when you are using AI for University business, academic, research, or operational purposes. I urge you to familiarize yourself with the policy and turn to it for guidance. Note that this is NOT a policy created by Academic Affairs, so direct any questions you may have to TCU IT. Finals Reminder

As a reminder, final evaluative exercises must be administered in all classes in May 5-8. Here is a link to TCU’s Final Evaluative Exercise Policy for more details.
