TCU Begins Search for Three Academic Leadership Positions

Searches are underway for deans to lead the Louise Dilworth Davis College of Science & Engineering, Harris College of Nursing & Health Sciences, and Mary Couts Burnett Library.

“We are conducting in-depth national and international searches to fill these crucial leadership roles. We expect to complete them by May 2026 to keep TCU’s strong academic momentum going,” said Floyd L. Wormley Jr., Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. “These leaders will join me and the deans of TCU’s seven other schools and colleges to continue to LEAD ON in exemplary academics, research and creative activity.”

Louise Dilworth Davis Dean, Louise Dilworth Davis College of Science & Engineering

Dr. T. Dwayne McCay currently serves as interim dean of the newly named college.

“I commend Dean McCay for bringing his 30 years of experience to TCU to provide strong leadership as we seek a permanent dean,” Provost Wormley said.

Leading the search committee are Dr. Craig Crossland, John V. Roach Dean of the Neeley School of Business, and Dr. Reuben Burch, Vice Provost for Research.

Marilyn and Morgan Davies Dean, Harris College of Nursing & Health Sciences

After seven impactful years leading the Harris College of Nursing & Health Sciences, Dean Chris Watts is stepping down.

“I thank Dean Watts for his indelible and positive legacy of excellence, governance and dedication to the students, faculty and staff of Harris College,” Provost Wormley said.

Dr. Susan Mace Weeks, Executive Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Emily Lund, Professor of Communication Sciences and Disorders, co-chair the search committee.

Dean, Mary Couts Burnett Library

In May 2026, Dean Tracy Hull will conclude her leadership as dean of the library after six influential years of service to TCU.

“After twice extending her retirement deadline, I thank Dean Hull for nurturing the academic heart of our institution in service to TCU students, faculty and staff,” Provost Wormley said.

Dr. Amy Hardison Tully, Teresa Ann Carter King Dean of the College of Fine Arts, and Dr. Kristen Barnes, Associate Dean of the Mary Couts Burnett Library, co-chair the search committee.
