Reuben F. Burch Joins TCU as Vice Provost for Research

I am pleased to announce that Reuben F. Burch V, Ph.D., will join TCU on July 31 as Vice Provost for Research.

Dr. Burch’s experience as a leader, innovator and team builder, and his success building research capacity at an R1 institution, made him the stand-out choice among an impressive pool of national candidates. He comes to TCU from Mississippi State University, where he was associate vice president for research, executive director and founder of the Athlete Engineering Institute, Jack Hatcher Endowed Chair in engineering entrepreneurship, and professor of industrial and systems engineering.

Dr. Burch’s capability as a research administrator and his understanding of the research landscape will energize TCU’s growth to become a leading center of research, scholarship and creative activity, one of the four pillars of the Strategic Plan, LEAD ON: Values in Action.

I thank the search committee for their time and commitment to filling this important role, and Tom Wavering and LeAnn Forsberg for serving as co-chairs.
