Provost FAQs re: Classroom Protocols for Fall 2022

Dear Academic Affairs faculty and staff,

In a story in TCU Today and on the TCU website, the Campus Readiness Task Force detailed campus protocols to Protect the Purple for Fall 2022. With the availability of the COVID vaccine and booster at the Brown Lupton Health Center, we are starting the semester as “normal” as possible for the first time in two years.

That means no more zoom classes and complicated hybrid classes. Unless your course has been scheduled by the university as a fully online course, no part of it will be offered online. TCU is, and always has been, about being on campus and in person, learning and teaching together in the classroom.

Please refer to the Faculty FAQs for further details and to monitor changes that may evolve. You will find answers to these questions:

  • Can I move my class online temporarily?
  • What should I do about teaching if I test positive for COVID?
  • What should I do about teaching if I am in close contact with someone who tests positive for COVID?
  • Will TCU notify me if a student in my class tests positive for COVID?
  • What happens when I report my positive COVID test through TCU?
  • Can I require that masks be worn in my classroom?
  • What if a student doesn’t comply with my mask requirement un my classroom?
  • How can i/ request a box of masks for my classroom?
  • Can I continue to offer office hours remotely?

All answers to the above questions can be found at provost.tcu.edu/FAQ.

If you have a question that is not included in the FAQs, please email connectedcampus@tcu.edu.

I am excited to see everyone back on campus, sharing the Horned Frog spirit of community and thirst for knowledge. It’s what TCU was founded on 150 years ago, and it is still true today.

Here’s to a wonderful Fall semester!
