Provost Floyd L. Wormley Jr. is pleased to announce that Susan Mace Weeks, DNP, is now Executive Vice Provost for Academic Affairs at Texas Christian University. She will lead strategic initiatives and priorities across Academic Affairs to advance the goals of LEAD ON: Values in Action.
“As TCU’s vice provost since 2018, Dr. Weeks has a multifaceted understanding of academic excellence, an unwavering dedication to those who teach and those who learn, and a collaborative aptitude that builds powerful connections,” Provost Wormley said. “She is a true partner-leader, and I value her counsel and wisdom as we advance TCU’s mission, vision and values together.”
Dr. Weeks has served as Vice Provost for Academic Affairs since 2018. Academic units that will continue to report directly to her include Student Success, Institutional Effectiveness, TCU Global, Extended Education, and the William L. Adams Center for Writing.
Dr. Weeks joined TCU in 1994 and served as dean of the Harris College of Nursing & Health Sciences from 2015 to 2018. She holds the rank of professor within both the Harris College and the Burnett School of Medicine, as well as multiple professional licensures. She also serves as executive director of the Health Innovation Institute at TCU. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing, and a Distinguished Fellow and practitioner in the National Academies of Practice. She serves on national healthcare leadership committees including the Healthcare System Excellence Expert Panel and the Quality Health Care Expert Panel.
Dr. Weeks is a member of the board of trustees for a large regional healthcare system, and serves on the board of directors for the regional chapter of the American Red Cross. An active member of several professional organizations, she has been honored for her professional and community service. Her scholarly work has appeared in peer-reviewed publications as well as national and international presentations.
She completed honors study at Harlaxton College in England; earned a bachelor’s degree from William Jewell College, master’s degree from Texas Woman’s University, and doctoral degree from Texas Christian University; and holds an Executive Education certificate from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. In addition to her roles at TCU, she holds a faculty appointment at the University of Adelaide in South Australia.
