Dean Hull to Remain at Mary Couts Burnett Library

Dear TCU faculty and staff,

I am pleased to announce that Dean Hull has delayed her retirement and will serve another three-year term as dean of the TCU library. I am confident that her ongoing leadership, strategic vision, and use of best practices, plus her commitment to TCU students, will continue to raise the profile of the Mary Couts Burnett Library as a premier resource for the Horned Frog community.

As dean since 2020, she has distinguished herself by creating an endowment dedicated to Special Collections acquisitions, building the collections and hiring staff for the Burnett School of Medicine library, supporting the Provost in planning and policy strategy, and leading strategic planning for the library and TCU Press. As associate dean since 2007, she was instrumental in designing the library liaison program, maintaining service during the library’s extensive renovation, and launching the popular FabLab.

Dean Hull is the epitome of a true Horned Frog. Not only has she championed the library, she has volunteered as a Frog Camp facilitator, mentored TCU students, and served on several university committees and planning groups.

We are fortunate that Dean Hull will continue her outstanding leadership as dean of the Mary Couts Burnett Library.

The Library Dean Search Committee, chaired by Diana Boerner, conducted an excellent search. I thank them and others across campus who participated in the search.

Best,

Teresa Abi-Nader Dahlberg

Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs
