- Interim Dean T. Dwayne McCay joins TCU to lead the College of Science & Engineering as we move toward our R1 goal
- Professor of Geology Omar Harvey will direct the new Natural Resources Research Initiative to enhance our reputation in solving natural resources challenges.
- Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs M. Francyne Huckaby has been named one of 15 nationwide ACE Fellows by the American Council on Education.
- Daxton “Chip” Stewart, professor of journalism and assistant provost for research compliance, received a grant from Kappa Tau Alpha to fund his research on the effectiveness of labeling and disclaimers on AI-generated photos and videos.
- Carol Howe, the Paula R. & Ronald C. Parker Endowed Professor of Nursing and director of nursing research and scholarship, was named Big 12 Faculty of the Year.
- Poets&Quants named the Neeley School of Business among the Top 5 Undergraduate Business Schools for Academic Experience.
- College of Education Dean Frank Hernandez has been elected president of the National Education Leadership Council.
- Muriel Cormican, associate dean of undergraduate studies and professor of German, and Guangyan Chen, associate professor of Chinese, are the recipients of a STARTALK grant from the National Security Agency for Chinese for the Professions: Navigating Linguistic and Cultural Difference, a residential and immersion program that focuses on the practical use of Chinese in various careers. This is the second STARTALK grant that Cormican and Chen have received.
- Corey Trahan, director of the TCU Opera Studio, will serve as a faculty member at the Tokyo Opera Studio in Japan and a major festival in Italy this summer.
- Stathis Michaelides, W. A. Tex Moncrief Chair of Engineering, was elected as a Fellow of the American Society of Thermal and Fluids Engineers for significant contributions to the science and technology of thermal and fluids engineering. Only 2 percent of society membership are elected to be Fellows.
- Vicki Brooks, director of advanced practice registered nurse programs and associate professor of professional practice in nursing, was elected as the American Association of Nurse Practitioners liaison for the state of Texas.
- Charles Freeman, professor of fashion merchandising, has been named president-elect of the International Textile and Apparel Association.
- Miriam Ezzani, associate professor of educational leadership, was honored with the 2025 American Educational Research Association Social Justice in Teaching Award.
- Qinghua (Candy) Yang, associate professor of communication studies, was awarded an NIH/NCI grant to examine the relationships between social media exposure and engagement and the ENDS (electronic nicotine delivery systems) use and dependence among young adults.
- Suki John, professor in the School for Classical & Contemporary Dance, has been nominated for a prestigious Chita Rivera Award for Outstanding Choreography in a Feature Film for “Sh’ma: A Story of Survival.”
- Professor Martin Blessinger, Associate Professor Stuart Cheney and Instructor II Gina Bombola of the School of Music have been named 2024-2025 Gentling Fellows by the Amon Carter Museum of American Art.
- The Department of Accounting is ranked No. 12 in the nation out of 529 institutions for CPA exam success and No. 9 among 248 large accounting programs by Accounting Today.
- The Online Master of Science in Nursing made The Princeton Reviewlist of Best Online Nursing School Master’s Programs for 2025.
- Citlali Molina, assistant professor and program coordinator of the M.Ed. in School Counseling program, has been recognized with the Outstanding Pre-Tenure Counselor Educator Award from the Southern Association for Counselor Education and Supervision.
- The Full-time MBA ranks No. 43 in U.S. News & World Report list of Best Business Schools.
- TCU’s Horny Toad Project, led by Biology Professor Dean Williams, has played a critical role in the Fort Worth Zoo’s record-breaking release of 617 Texas horned lizards into the wild.
