SACSCOC Reaffirmation Update

I have good news about TCU’s reaffirmation process by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). This process must occur every 10 years to continue our SACSCOC accreditation.

The SACSCOC on-site team just finished their on-campus evaluation, which consisted of four days of meetings, discussions, questions, presentations…and all of this after reading the 100+-page report prepared and sent in advance by a team led by David E. Allen, executive director of Institutional Effectiveness.

I am happy to announce that the SACSCOC team had zero findings during this preliminary review! This is a very rare occurrence. The majority of universities have several findings that must be addressed following an on-site review. The SACSCOC committee chair noted this was her 16th site visit and the first to have no findings or recommendations.

The site visit team expressed that they were impressed with the commitment of our students, faculty, staff and Trustees. They also lauded our work with student engagement and outcomes; our program evaluation and assessment process; the collaboration of the Quality Enhancement Plan committee; our deep commitment to our mission; and much more. They even used the word empurpled to describe the spirited culture of our campus.

The next step is for the Chancellor and Dr. Allen to review the final document. We will then receive the official report, which will go to the SACSCOC board in December for the reaffirmation decision.

I want to take this opportunity to congratulate everyone involved with this remarkable on-site review. TCU’s performance is due in no small part to the diligence and commitment of many people:
